Spotyslvania County native Rashard Kelly, graduated from WSU with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. As a senior, the 6-foot-7, 227-pound forward helped the Shockers finish second nationally in rebounding margin (plus-9.9). He ranked third in the American Athletic Conference in rebounding (7.6 per game). He snagged a single-season school-record 104 offensive rebounds in 33 contests.
After four seasons as a key member of the Wichita State men’s basketball team, Spotyslvania County native Rashard Kelly has signed a professional contract. The Shockers announced on Monday that Kelly has signed with Parma Basket of the VTB United League–the top tier in Russian pro hoops.
“Players from that league have gotten NBA summer league and NBA training camp invites. It’s the fourth-best league behind the NBA so it’s a great opportunity,” Kelly said. “It’s a 10-month contract and a chance for me to go out there and get better and develop my game. For my first job, it’s not bad. How can I complain?”
